A testimony from Brian Sumpton

Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you

It’s not often, well not for me anyway that a complete stranger says “I have a message from God for you” well this is what happened to me recently. I used to think if God wants’ to give me a message He will do it directly, He will and does do that, but I’ve learned that He will use other ways to get a message to you or to confirm something that you already know.

I had been asked to do something and was pondering my decision. My head was full of indecision, worry, fear and to be honest a little anger. So I wasn’t really in a place to hear what God wanted to say. The stranger said “God doesn’t want you to get angry, leave all that stuff to Him, He will get angry if its necessary, don’t worry or get anxious, be yourself say what’s on your mind, be honest.

Matthew 11 (The Message) Says: Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you

It does work

 A testimony from John Nelson

Over the last 2 years I have had some serious health problems. I have had my prostate removed, a hernia operation and kidney stones. Last November it was discovered that my Blood calcium and phosphorus levels were sky high! A condition named Hyperparathyroidism was diagnosed which meant another operation.

After lots of tests, scans and x rays etc I was told by the consultant surgeon that I would have to undergo open surgery to pin point the affected glands in my neck. He described the risks involved and warned of the likelihood of nerve damage.
Having asked me if I sang in a choir he stated that I would most likely loose my singing voice due to the operation. For many years I have played the keyboard and sang in the worship group at church. When I am singing I feel like I am talking to
God face to face! so I was extremely upset and near to tears.

The need for the operation was urgent and I was soon to be on the operating table literally having my throat cut open. Before this I was prayed for by our Church leaders, they prayed for a speedy recovery and especially that, contrary to the prognosis, my voice would not be affected.
